Hello, from the wiki's lead admin!

I couldn't help but notice you were fiddling around with the css for your own personal css on the wiki in the past couple of days. I decided to take a look at it just now myself, and I have to say, I do like what I see. I wouldn't mind adopting the css as the official one if you wanted, besides maybe commenting that the square full color tabs are a bit odd to me, aesthetics wise.

As for the wiki itself, we are recent refugees from wikia. In the past two years or so, besides a bit of a hiatus, I helped out majorly on the Aether Wikia Wiki; so much that I got appointed as an admin and became the only active one available for...pretty much up to now. Never really liked the ad policy they ran or the staff as well for being slightly hypocritical among other things.

I'm trying to catch up on current experimental Aether II info while juggling some other stuff, so don't mind some bits and bobs strew about the wiki space as I make small tests and fixes. I'm sure once I get at least a couple of hours of free time, I'll be able to churn out those missing pages/info like clockwork, as I'm very good at stuff like that...that is when I'm focused and have a redbull at hand, haha.--LaDestitute (talk) 21:15, 27 January 2018 (UTC)

I basically styled the wiki due to an inspiration moment, I cannot explain it otherwise. Maybe that inspiration pulse came from the vanilla look of the wiki when I first viewed it and just started doing some CSS to make it a bit less 'vanilla'. I still have to tweak some stuff, like borders and, as you mentioned, the tabs. I would be honored (is that the right thing to say?) if my CSS would be made the official one for the Aether wiki.
As for the tab colors, feel free to change them to what you prefer. I just based the tab colors on the infobox headers (as seen on for example Holystone), as well as the dark blue headers on the front page (that color is used for the upload bar in the wiki editor).
For me contributing, I'll likely won't be contributing all that much info-wise, as I don't have any experience with the Aether right now (hopefully that changes soon), but stylewise I think I can help with some bits and bobs if you like (maybe isometric renders and inventory images?). Other than that, I wish you good luck with bringing content to this wiki! --DarkShadowTNT (tc) 23:15, 27 January 2018 (UTC)

From what I showed of your work on the mod discord, people like it but I'd suggest giving the tabs rounded corners, making them a bit shorter, and centering the text. As for the tab color, I'm thinking making it 9498BA, 7A7A99, or 70858C, depending on what you think looks good. I could use help with some renders, despite knowing how to make 150x150 ones already but not anything complex like stairs or mob renders.--LaDestitute (talk) 00:25, 28 January 2018 (UTC)
Hey, I'm about to soon make your css-work the official css-skin for the wiki, so feel free to make any final fixes and such :)--LaDestitute (talk) 18:36, 28 January 2018 (UTC)

So far, it looks like the skin is complete. I just styled the sidebar to not be blue as it was. Do make sure to read the documentation I put in the file, as it might contain useful information, like font details etc. I might poke around with it in the future, maybe for when I do some personal template building and minor skin altering. --DarkShadowTNT (tc) 19:23, 28 January 2018 (UTC)
Thank you majorly for your help, I really like the way the skin turned out and most of the mod discord seems to like it too. Now the wiki looks a lot better :)--LaDestitute (talk) 19:28, 28 January 2018 (UTC)
Don't forget to copy the CSS to MediaWiki:Hydra.css, otherwise no-one except for us will be able to enjoy the new skin :) --DarkShadowTNT (tc) 20:07, 28 January 2018 (UTC) P.S.: I suggest copying the CSS from my common.css, as that one is the most up-to-date one.
