Official Aether Addons

A list of addons created and published by the official Aether Team:

Aether Addon: Beyond Parity

Beyond Parity Icon.png

The Beyond Parity addon is centered around small and simple additions to the Aether's content, conceptualized over past development and made to be more consistent with Minecraft's newer features. Some of these features include new decorative Holystone variants, Zanite building blocks, and variants of functional blocks made with materials from the Aether.

Available Version(s): 1.21.1

Aether Addon: Emissivity

Emissivity Icon.png

The Emissivity addon applies emissive textures to various items, blocks, and equipment found in the Aether mod. This means that these textures will appear bright regardless of the light level when they are in the world.

These changes apply to things made from Ambrosium, Phoenix equipment, dungeon stone runes, and even the Shield of Repulsion. All items and blocks have emissive textures handled through the mod's data pack files, while emissive equipment is toggleable within the mod's config options.

Available Version(s): 1.19.4, 1.20.1, 1.20.2, 1.20.4, 1.21.1

Aether Addon: Enhanced Extinguishing

Enhanced Extinguishing Icon.png

The Enhanced Extinguishing addon changes how placing Torches and Lanterns works in the Aether dimension. It removes the normal mechanic of disallowing their placement, and instead makes it so that placing these blocks will convert them into extinguished variants: the Extinguished Torch and Extinguished Lantern, respectively.

These two blocks resemble their lit counterparts, but both appear to have their flame extinguished and give off no light. This change makes placing these blocks more consistent with the behavior of other blocks in the Aether like Campfires and Candles, which convert to an unlit state. Similarly, breaking the Extinguished Torch and Extinguished Lantern will return their lit counterpart, just like Candles.

Aether Addon: Overworld Ores

Overworld Ores Icon.png

The Overworld Ores addon implements new Holystone variants of ore blocks that correlate to vanilla and modded ores, and will naturally spawn in the Aether dimension with similar spawn rates and ranges to their Overworld counterparts. Modded ore variants will only generate if a respective mod with that ore is installed. This addon does not cover compatibility for every modded ore, but modpack creators can suggest additional ores they would like to be added.

This addon is intended to help modpack makers who are looking to add certain ore blocks to the Aether without requiring the player to have to travel to the Overworld to mine for them, such as for Aether-only survival situations. Modpack creators can also configure all of the default features such as generation rates or recipe results however they desire using data packs.

Players can also equip Moas with chests, allowing them to carry around additional storage capacity.

Aether Addon: Treasure Reforging

Treasure Reforging Icon.png

The Treasure Reforging addon allows for recycling extra dungeon loot into different pieces of equipment. This is done through using new smithing templates in combination with unique materials obtained from smelting some types of equipment.

Neptune equipment can be broken down into Neptune Mesh, Valkyrie equipment can be broken down into Valkyrum Ingots, and Phoenix equipment can be broken down into Pyral Ingots. You can even break down Sun Altars into Pyral Shards, which can be recrafted into Pyral Ingots using Obsidian or be used to reignite Obsidian Armor. Valkyrum and Pyral Ingots can even be crafted into new compacted blocks.
