Deep Aether (in short DA) is an unofficial addon for The Aether for Minecraft ranging from 1.19.2 to 1.21.1.

The addon adds lots of new features to give players a chance to venture deeper into the dimension, with new content. Basically, this mod aims to give the Aether the "1.16 - Nether Expansion Update" treatment, adding new blocks and items, ores (along with tool, weapon, and armor sets), biomes, mobs, structures, etc.

It is developed by RazorDevs.

Biomes

Deep Aether adds a variety of new modern biomes, including some sub-biomes to handle diversity. There are 4 main biomes and 3 sub-biomes.

Biome Name Description Image
Aerglow Forest A common and beautiful forest filled with Roseroot trees and a flourishing flora. An example of an Aerglow Forest
Blue Aerglow Forest A Sub-Biome of the Aerglow Forest. Similar to the normal forest, but only contains the blue variant of Roseroot trees. An example of a Blue Aerglow Forest
Mystic Aerglow Forest A Sub-Biome of the Aerglow Forest. It's the rarest variant, hosting both normal and blue Roseroot trees. An example of a Mystic Aerglow Forest
Aerlavender Fields A fairly common field of Aerlavender plants. Similar to Aether's original biomes. It is home to a lot of Golden Oak trees. An example of Aerlavender Fields
Yagroot Swamp An extremely dangerous swamp shaped by poison. It's home to the Yagroot trees and other dangerous hazards. An example of a Yagroot Swamp
Golden Heights A rare biome with a recognizable golden feel to it. Sunroot and Conberry trees grow here with other unique flora. An example of Golden Heights
Golden Grove A Sub-Biome of the Golden Heights. It's often found neighboring the parent biome. An example of a Golden Grove

Mobs

Deep Aether also adds a couple of interesting mobs to Aether's ambience.

History

Deep Aether's idea was initially born from Aethyus' desire to add new flora for The Aether dimension. Officially, the mod started development on June 8th 2022 for Forge 1.18, following what at the time was the latest alpha of the Aether rewrite. In the first few weeks Deep Aether was being developed with a combination of manual coding and MCreator, leading to a number of important issues and overall slow development. MCreator was shortly dropped and development quickly shifted to the two main developers: darksonic300 and TunefulTurnip. To be continued.
