Flying Cow (The Aether)
A flying cow is a common passive mob and a source of leather, beef, and milk. They can be ridden when equipped with a saddle.
Spawning
Flying cows spawn above aether grass blocks with a light level above 8 in herds of 2-5 cows during world generation.

- A saddle if saddled.
1–3 experience is dropped when flying cows are killed by a player or a tamed wolf.
Killing a baby flying cow yields no items or experience.
Milking
An adult flying cow can be milked by using a bucket or skyroot bucket on it, yielding a milk bucket or a skyroot milk bucket respectively.
Behavior
Flying cows wander aimlessly and avoid falling off cliffs higher than 3.5 blocks and jumping into lava. They fall slowly and are immune to fall damage. If harmed, flying cows flee for a few seconds.
Flying cows follow players holding blue berries within 10 blocks of them and can be attached to leads.
Breeding
A flying cow follows a player holding blue berries. They stop following a player if separated by at least 10 blocks.
After they are given blue berries, adult flying cows pair off to create offspring, granting 1-7 experience. The parents have a cooldown of 5 minutes before they can breed again.
Baby flying cows grow to adulthood after 20 minutes, although their growth can be slowly accelerated using berries; each uses reduces 10% of the remaining time to grow up. A baby flying cow that results from breeding attempts to follow it's parent or pathfinds to another adult flying cow within 8 blocks if it is separated from its parent by more than 16 blocks. They will prefer to follow a player with berries over their parent.
Riding
It is possible to saddle and ride adult flying cows. Baby flying cows cannot be saddled nor ridden.
When controlled by a player, flying cows do not float on water. They can be ridden in water up to 2 blocks high before the player is dismounted.
Flying cows travel at a speed of 12.5 blocks/s. Pressing jump while riding and on the ground launches the flying cow upwards almost 15 blocks and pressing dismount while in the air accelerates its falling speed.
