A life shard is an item that grants the player permanent extra hearts.

Usage

To use a life shard, press use while it is selected in the hotbar. This will immediately consume the item, leaving nothing in return. The player can use up to 10 life shards at maximum to give themselves 20 × 10 health points (one per life shard).

After using the maximum amount of life shards, trying to use more will not consume the item and will yield no results. As an indicator, they will be given the chat message, "You can only use a total of 10 Life Shards."
